Zero Day Jan Gangsei Books
I read this on recommendation of my niece, whom I believe may be a Barrington Babe. I do not normally read YA or fiction, but am so happy I did! Highly recommend this book to parents and middle school or above students. Proof you can tell a great story without profanity, sex, or too much violence.Tags : Amazon.com: Zero Day (9781484722268): Jan Gangsei: Books,Jan Gangsei,Zero Day,Disney-Hyperion,1484722264,Mysteries & Detective Stories,Thrillers & Suspense,Adventure and adventurers,Adventure stories,JUVENILE FICTION Love & Romance,JUVENILE FICTION Mysteries & Detective Stories,Kidnapping,Kidnapping;Fiction.,Presidents - Family,Presidents;Family;Fiction.,Spies,Spies;Fiction.,Spy stories,Thrillers (Fiction),White House (Washington, D.C.),Action & Adventure - General,Children's BooksAll Ages,Children: Young Adult (Gr. 7-9),Fiction,Fiction-Political,JUVENILE,JUVENILE FICTION Action & Adventure General,Juvenile Fiction,Juvenile FictionLove & Romance,Juvenile FictionMysteries, Espionage, & Detective Stories,Juvenile Grades 7-9 Ages 12-14,Love & Romance,Mysteries (Young Adult),Mysteries, Espionage, & Detective Stories,Romance & relationships stories (Children's Teenage),TEEN'S FICTION MYSTERY & DETECTIVE,TEEN'S FICTION THRILLER,United States,YOUNG ADULT FICTION,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Action & Adventure General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Family General (see also headings under Social Themes),YOUNG ADULT FICTION Mysteries & Detective Stories,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Politics & Government,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Thrillers & Suspense,Action & Adventure - General,JUVENILE FICTION Action & Adventure General,Juvenile FictionLove & Romance,Juvenile FictionMysteries, Espionage, & Detective Stories,Love & Romance,Mysteries, Espionage, & Detective Stories,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Action & Adventure General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Family General (see also headings under Social Themes),YOUNG ADULT FICTION Mysteries & Detective Stories,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Politics & Government,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Thrillers & Suspense,Children's BooksAll Ages,Fiction,Mysteries (Young Adult),YOUNG ADULT FICTION,Children: Young Adult (Gr. 7-9),Romance & relationships stories (Children's Teenage)
Zero Day Jan Gangsei Books Reviews
Middle school required reading was actually very good
Could not put down! Suspenseful plot. If you ever lived I D.C. or Virginia, you will see local spots and people. Very well done. Got recommendation to read off Washington Post review. Said first work by author so unpredictable but I want more!
Not my usual genre, but a very good read. Good political thriller. Hopefully a sequel will follow. There is more to this story!
I chose a 5 star rating because it does have an interesting premise. Plus, the villains have a agenda more complicated than simple domination. The drama is more interesting than most novels like this, such as Harper's sexuality being used as a weapon. I think we'll see more things like that in the future. Anyway, there's more things I could say, but I enjoyed this book.
My 11 year old son recommended this book. I enjoyed the plot development and characters and we both hope for a sequel!
This book is amazing and so suspenseful. I didn't want to put it down. I can only hope there is a follow up book about these characters!
I read this book (350+ pages) in one day because I could NOT put it down. The dialogue is authentic and the attention to detail, if you know DC, is refreshingly accurate. The pace is a perfect mix of intense action and short chapter vignettes focused on individual character development--characters that celebrate a diverse spectrum of attributes and experiences. Aside from the character ages, this doesn't scream YA fiction, but teens will definitely resonate with the characters, particularly regarding their parental relationships, and the universal theme and developmental experience of trust/mistrust between teens and their close adults. I can't wait for my teenager to read and discuss so many of the current and compelling themes presented on government, liberties, cyber security, politics, terrorism, and what it means to live in a digital age of macropolitical insecurity. Well-executed overall, and an incredible pleasure to read.
